Turtle Rock

I put down the 19th when I checked the date on my cell phone, not realizing it was already past midnight when I started writing on this page - so really it should say the 18th, noting that we climbed on the 17th.... now that I've straightened out this fact, you can truly enjoy the awesomeness of this comic.

p.s. Stay on hiking trails when you're wearing flip flops. Seriously.

Honk!

Decided to have some more fun with tiny art. A very kind customer saw this in my shop the day it went up and decided she had to have it for her nephew... I've been a very popular go-to guy in the "gift for nephew" department lately. Oh, she also had some very nice things to say about me on her blog.

Legs Like Little Splinters

Sorry for the obscure reference in the post title. I've had this song stuck in my head all week. Still, "splinter-like" could possibly describe the legs on this little fella:

It was only after I finished this quick sketch today that I decided to look up photos of tricycles for reference... so yeah, it's obvious I haven't ridden one in a while, because if I had, I'd probably recall the pedals are located on the front tire.

Hopefully I'll get things right next time - still, doing a very quick illustration with little to no preparation was fun!

La Note

I had a little coffee and a snack yesterday at a small French-inspired cafe called La Note in Berkeley. This man, roughly my age, was having lunch with his parents and it reminded me of a trip I took with my own parents to the East Coast a few years ago, where we spent some time in the very French atmosphere of old Quebec City. I'd like to think we looked happier at the time than these three.
